PURPOSE:To produce a clad steel plate or shape steel inexpensively by bending the flange parts of a traveling channel steel to one body in such a way as to enclose a solidified cast ingot at the same instant when the molten steel charged into the channel parts of the said channel steel solidifies then subjecting said steel to soaking and hot rolling. CONSTITUTION:Hoops of the various kinds of the metallic materials are fed from an un-coiler 1 via a looper 2 to a cleaning device 3, where they are cleaned, after which they are formed to a channel shapes continuously with the forming rolls 4 and are cooled 5. The molten metal 8 is charged to the prescribed thickness to the channel parts of the hoops under cooling and traveling through a spout 7 from a ladle 6. The channel flange parts of the hoop materials consisting of the clad blank materials formed into one piece with a cooler 5 are bent with the forming rolls 9, whereby the steel ingot is enclosed with the hoops. The resulted clad blank material for forming is supplied to a continuous soaking pit 10, where the temp. of the inside part of the cast ingot and the temp. of the hoop are equalized, after which it is rolled to the prescribed thickness with the ordinary hot rolling mills 11 and 12 for the slab, and is coiled with a re-coiler 13. |
