PURPOSE:To prevent the lowering of an image density, by changing the gap between the surface of a photoreceptor and a counter electrode in following the change of temperature around a developer or the photoreceptor. CONSTITUTION:A developing saucer 11 as a counter electrode is fixed and supported from below by supporting members 15 and 16 which have one ends brought into contact with the bottom plate of a developing vessel 14 and are immersed in a developer 12. Supporting bars 17 and 18 pierce through middle parts of supporting members 15 and 16 and are supported by the side plate of the device to position supporting members 15 and 16 for the surface of a photosensitive drum 1. When the heat of the developer 12 is transmitted to supporting members 15 and 16 having a large coefficient of thermal expansion, their lengths are changed, and one ends are stopped by the developing vessel, and therefore, a developing gas (g) is shortened. Since the gap (g) follows the change of temperature of the developer 12 continuously, the gap is controlled in detail. Thus, the lowering of an image density is prevented. |
