The hollow base has a series of pipe sections slid into each other in a vertical setting to form an upright support. A filling of sand or concrete stabilises the support, with several supports bracing the machinery. The overlapping sections of pipe can be secured by collars and the insides of the pipe sections serve as cable ducts for the supply lines and the various distribution pipes.
