A spin resonance spectrometer has an essentially cylindrical measurement cell contg. stationary or flowing sample material and a liq. stabilising material. The stabilising liq. can be separate from the sample material in circulation whilst still ensuring sufficient proximity in the measurement zone for stablisation. The measurement cell (1) is enclosed by an annular chamber (4) filled with stabilising material. The chamber has stabilising material inlet and outlet connections via which it is connected to a closed circuit contg. a circulation device such as a pump (9). The stabilising material moves around the cell within the chamber. A heat exchanger (10) is fitted in the liq. circuit and connected to a temp. regulator.
