Large mineral breaker on mine long front-gallery junction - is hydraulically operated with nozzles for high pressure cutting jets

The breaker device is used for breaking pieces of raw mineral at the point of transition from long front to gallery, esp. at floor level, in a mine. It is used in conjunction with a gallery conveyor at right angles to the long front conveyor. Use is made of a hydraulic breaker device (13) equipped with high-pressure cutting nozzles. An attachment, used as a carrier (17) for these nozzles, may be located on the side of the gallery conveyor (11) facing away from the long front, pref. in the form of an attachment plate. There are pref. at least two sets of nozzles in planes crossways to each other. This ensures that massive pieces are quickly broken up small enough for steady flow in the transitional area.
