PURPOSE:To enable a good 2-color copy to be made stably by using the first photoconductive layer of a composite electrophotographic receptor made by vapor depositing an Se-As alloy and the second photoconductive layer having its main components made of organic photoconductor and triphenylmethane. CONSTITUTION:This composite photoreceptor is made by providing a first photoconductive layer 12 and a second photoconductive layer 14 on a conductive substrate 11. The layer 12 is made by laminating an Se-As alloy vapor deposition layer 121 containing 1-6wt% As or further an Se-Te sensitization vapor deposition layer 122 on the laye 121. The layer 14 consists mainly of a eutectic complex composed of a pyrylium type dye and a polycarbonate resin, and triphenylmethane. A 2-color copy is formed by subjecting this photoreceptor 1' to negative primary charging in the dark, followed by secondary positive charging, imagewise exposure using an original having black and chromatic areas, formation of an electrostatic latent image, and successive development using colored and black toners. |
