The hinge for opening and closing a lid is esp. usable as connector between a glass lid and a case, e.g. on a record player, or similar. Of two hinge plates (6,7) for lid anchorage, one (6) has side plate sections (6b) swivelling on a pivot pin (8). These sections have two anchoring eyes. A side piece on the other plate is held in the space between the sections. This plate is centrally anchored by the eyes, to prevent it from turning away. One plate, at least, is fitted with fixing screws (9), to fix the lid inserted in the anchoring unit. The glass lid can be adequately secured without making a hole in it.
