PURPOSE:To prevent seizuer of the portion of tangential seal of a vane compressor, by providing a portion on the inner surface of a cam ring which has a small curvature and is capable of decreasing the radial clearance between the cam ring and a rotor gradually as the rotation of the rotor advances. CONSTITUTION:A radial clearance formed at the portion of tangential seal between a rotor 4 and a cam ring 1 is decreased gradually toward a suction port 6 from the position of a discharge port 7. When compression is started along with rotation of the rotor 4, oil drawn into a compression chamber 10 from the suction port 6 together with cooling medium is urged onto the inner surface of the cam ring 1 in the form of an oil layer. When the rotor 4 is turned to the left, oil in the compression chamber on the side of the discharge port is drawn into the clearance between the rotor 4 and cam ring 1 by the function of differential pressure and rotation of the rotor 4. Here, since the clearance decreases as the rotation of the rotor 4, advances, a force for keeping the rotor 4 away from the cam ring 1 is produced. |
