摘要 A description is given of an arrangement for early fire detection on a belt conveyor whose cord conveyor belt is supported on idlers which are mounted approximately axially next to one another and at a distance behind one another in the conveying direction. In order to detect an impermissibly intense heating of the idlers on a belt conveyor in good time and to obviate the danger thereby caused of a mine fire, it is proposed that the cord conveyor belt (10) is provided on the side (12) facing the idlers (11) with a temperature measuring substance which changes colour when heated, that the temperature measuring substance is arranged in punctiform, spotty or striped zones (13) distributed over the belt width in such a way that during one belt revolution each idler (11) comes into contact with at least one temperature measuring zone (13), and that the scanning head (20) of a colour monitoring unit (21), which responds to colour changes in the temperature measuring substance, is aligned with respect to the tracks of the temperature measuring zones in such a way that all the temperature measuring zones are scanned at a point of the belt conveyor (1) during a revolution of the cord conveyor belt (10). An idler which comes into contact with a temperature measuring zone of the cord conveyor belt (10) as it revolves and is excessively heated leads to a colour change in the associated heat measuring substance, and this colour change is detected by the scanning head (20) at at least one point of the belt conveyor. In order to prevent premature wear of the heat measuring zones (13) during normal revolution of the cord conveyor belt (10), the heat measuring substance or its carrier material should have a greater hardness than the surrounding material of the cord conveyor belt. It is possible, if appropriate, to fix a brush strip or bond strip in front of the scanning head, which cleans the colour measuring zones before these run into the scanning gap (23) below the scanning head (20). <IMAGE>
