Roadway support system

The invention relates to a roadway support system, in particular for use at the road head or in the area of a gate road, with elements which underpin the roof and are formed in a curved shape like the roof. The surface of each element is formed by a curved steel plate, to the underside of which I-section girders are fastened which extend across the element at each end of the same. The lower portions of the elements underpinning the roof are straight and are supported on base elements. Each base element is coupled to the element underpinning the roof via two lifting cylinders which are fastened to the base element in an articulated manner. In addition, each base element is coupled to the element underpinning the roof via a sliding guide which limits the relative movement between both elements to a movement in the operative direction of the lifting cylinders.
