PURPOSE:To obtain an inclination angle detector having high accuracy by converting the displacement of a core caused by inclination, to the quantity of electricity by a coil being around a housing. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic fluid 3 congregates in the periphery of a magnetic pole of a core 2, therefore, the core 2 floats up from a guide groove surface 6 of a housing 1, and when the housing 1 is inclined, said fluid moves freely to the lowest position of the groove surface 6 curved by the gravity. When the housing 1 is inclined by an angle theta from the horizontal as shown in a figure (b), the core 2 and the fluid move to the lowest position and displaced from a reference position 10, and an output corresponding to this displacement 11 is obtained from a coil 4. When this displacement 11 and a radius of curvature of the groove surface 6 are denoted as (d) and R, respectively, d=thetaR is formed. On the other hand, the inductance of the coil 4 is varied linearly against the displacement (d). Therefore, by detecting the variation quantity of the coil 4 by a detecting circuit, the displacement (d) can be derived. Accordingly, by the radius R and the displacement (d), an inclination angle theta of the housing 1 is detected. |
