PURPOSE:To synthesize and overlay images optionally including superposition of two pictures, by using an optical path switching plate to control read lights from plural recording mediums. CONSTITUTION:A space modulating element 9 facing to the surface of an original a proper length apart from the surface of the original is provided n an optical path C1 in the vertical direction of an original table 1, and the original image is written to the element 9 through an optical system 7. Meanwhile, an optical path C2 orthogonal to the optical path C1 is formed, and a space modulating element 10 is provided in the vertical direction of the element 9, and a photodetector 20 facing to the element 10 a prescribed length apart from the element 10 is arranged in the optical path C1. An optical path switching plate 8 is provided in a part where optical paths C1 and C2 orthogonal to each other. All recording lights from the table 1 to the element 9 and all read lights from the element 10 to a photosensitive belt 23 are transmitted through a window 31 of the plate 8, and a total reflective mirror 32 reflects totally recording lights to the element 10 and reflects toally read lights to the belt 23, and a half transmitting mirror 33 reflects read lights from the element 9 and permits read lights from the element 10 to transmit through, and both read lights are irradiated to the belt 23 simultaneously. |
