The hydraulic percussion device has a working piston (11), the percussion movements of which are controlled by a control piston (31). The control piston (31) is changed over between two end positions as a function of the respective position of the working piston (11). An additional piston (51), which is moved into an unlocking position if the pressure in the pressure line (20) exceeds a lower threshold value, brings about mechanical blocking of the control piston (31) if the pressure in the pressure line (20) lies below the threshold value.
