PURPOSE:To obtain a compound having a thiocarboxyl or selenocarboxyl group which is a synthetic intermediate, by reacting a specific compound having an active hydrogen wit S or Se and CO in the presence of a base having a specific pKa value and a tertiary nitrogen atom, e.g. triethylamine. CONSTITUTION:A compound having a pKa <=2.5, e.g. acetophenone or cyclohexanone, is reacted with a substance of the formula X (X is S or Se) and CO in the presence of a base having a pKa <=2.5 and a tertiary nitrogen atom, e.g. tributylamine or 1,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.4]octane, to introduce a thiocarboxyl or selenocarboxyl group thereinto. The reaction temperature is 0-200 deg.C, preferably 15-150 deg.C. Diethyl ether, etc. is used as a solvent. |
