PURPOSE:To provide a refining agent for dephosphorization of molten iron which is improved of refining power in the stage of performing dephosphorization treatment by adding the same agent to molten iron by mixing an oxidizing source for the phosphorus in molten iron as well as calcium oxide and iron chloride. CONSTITUTION:CaO as well as an oxidizing agent such as mill scale, iron ore or gaseous O2 are mixed with iron chloride such as FeCl2 or FeCl3 of a superior effect for stabilizing the product of dephosphorization. This as a refining agent is added to molten iron, whereby a dephosphorization treatment is accomplished. By this refining agent, oxidizing power is increased and the reaction of dephosphorization is improved considerably. In addition, the original unit of the entire part of the refining agent is reduced. |
