A process for the manufacture of finely-powdered, water-soluble without formation of lumps, high-molecular weight compounds, preferably modified natural polymers, comprising dry mixing the finely-powdered high-molecular weight compounds to be treated with from 0.2% to 5% by weight of polyglyoxal, heating said dry mixture to from 50 DEG to 150 DEG C, and recovering a product which is finely-powdered and water-soluble without formation of lumps. |
