PURPOSE:To regulate the hardness of a joined part formed by welding ends of steel strips together to the hardness inherent to the strips by refining by locally annealing the joined part and hardening the annealed part. CONSTITUTION:A joined part formed by welding ends of hard steel strips for manufacturing a wire contg. a flux together is locally annealed to make the hardness uniform. The annealed part is then hardened to regulate the hardness of the joined part to that of the steel strips by refining. The resulting steel strip is worked into U-shape, supplied with a flux, and sealed to finish a wire contg. the flux.
