PURPOSE:To enable manufacture of Ti clad steel excellent in joining strength and bending workability by using a specified metal or its alloy as an intermediate joining medium in manufacturing a clad plate using Ti as a cladding material and steel as a base material. CONSTITUTION:A plate made of Ta, Nb, V, Mo or alloys of these metals is pressure welded on the surface of various steel materials such as SS, SB, SM, stainless steel etc. Next, titanium clad steel material is manufactured by pressure welding industrial Ti plate, Ti plate such as Ti-0.15 Pd, Ti-5 Al-4 FeCr etc. or Ti alloy plate by explosion. This clad steel plate is further hot rolled at <=900 deg.C to improve joining strength and bending workability of the clad steel. |
