Apparatus for the palletisation and depalletisation of bottle cases or other cuboid articles, which, according to Figure 2, has a parallel crank mechanism (22) which is pivotable to and fro in a vertical plane between a horizontal position (27) and a vertically upward-directed position (28) by means of a crank-and-rocker mechanism (39) and on the parallel cranks (20, 21) of which the link (19) carrying a layer gripper (18) is movable longitudinally by means of endless pull means (33, 34), in such a way that the layers of articles can be loaded from a supply surface (5) onto a pallet (7) or unloaded from the pallet (7) onto an unloading surface (5) without a lifting platform, near the floor and with high efficiency and a low energy requirement. <IMAGE>
