PURPOSE:To provide the titled method wherein a developed coil-like wire rod is dropped freely so that during this drop the direction in which the developed coil- like wire rod is freely changed and thereby the direction in which the developed coil-like wire rod after the drop can be arbitrarily changed. CONSTITUTION:A support roller 11 and a dropping opening guide 9 are positioned downstream of an access conveyor 13 for conveying the developed coil- like wire rod 2. An exit conveyor 14 is located with a dropping distance h away from the conveyor 13 which is slightly larger than the diameter D of the coil, the traveling direction of the conveyor 14 being different from the conveyor 13, and a dropping opening receiving guide 10 is provided. The wire rod 2 is conveyed through the inlet conveyor 13, then drops spontaneously immediately after passing through the support guide roller 11, into the dropping opening guide 9, while during the dropping thereof its direction is changed, and it is conveyed smoothly in the traveling direction of the conveyor 14. The floor area necessary for the direction changing apparatus is advantageously reduced. |
