REGENERATION OF CRYSTALLINE ALUMINO SILICATE CATALYST A method is provided for regeneration of a catalyst comprising a crystalline aluminosilicate zeolite characterized by a silica to alumina mole ratio of at least about 12, a constraint index, as hereinafter defined, within the approximate range of 1 to 12 and modified by combination therewith of between about 0.5 and about 40 weight percent of a difficultly reducible oxide, which catalyst has a deposition of coke thereon as a result of previous use in catalyzing organic compound conversion with consequent loss in activity thereof. Regeneration is accomplished by exposing the aged catalyst to an atmosphere consisting essentially of hydrogen at a temperature between about 425 and about 650.degree.C and a pressure between about 10 and about 1000 psig for a period of time sufficient to at least partially restore the activity of the catalyst, after which it may be used for further service in conversion.
|
