<p>A pipe coating system and means comprising initially directing raw or unclean and uncoated pipe sections through a grit blasting station for cleaning of the outer periphery thereof, grinding the outer periphery of the cleaned pipe section for removal of any undesirable roughness present thereon subsequent to the cleaning operation, engaging the opposite ends, only, of the pipe section by contact with the inner periphery of the pipe, transporting the engaged pipe section by wheeled vehicles to and through a heating station and a subsequent coating station, propelling said pipe section and vehicles by means of canted roller means for moving the pipe section longitudinally through the heating and coating stations, simultaneously rotating the pipe section about the longitudinal axis thereof for facilitating the heating and coating operations, transferring the pipe sections to a curing station, and depositing the coated and cured pipe section in a storage area for subsequent use as required.</p> |
