PURPOSE:To obtain an electronic ruler having multiple functions by providing an electronic arithmetic device to a straight ruler and displaying scales and results of processing on a display panel along the longitudinal direction of the ruler. CONSTITUTION:An operation part 2 of an electronic arithmetic device is installed to a ruler body 1, and a display panel 3 of a liquid crystal display system or the like is provided along the longitudinal direction of the ruler. It is equally well to provide a stationary scale on the opposite side. The arithmetic device performs the operations similar to those of an ordinary electronic calculator and displays the results by converting the same to the spacing between two lines on the display panel in lieu of digitally displaying the same. The examples of operations include equal division of certain length, universal unequal division thereof, displaying of various unit systems in scale, displaying of reduced and magnified scales, and displaying in length for the results of functional calculations. |
