PURPOSE:To greatly reduce the dispersion of cutting errors of a hot steel with respect to the target length of the cut steel after the latter is cooled, by considering the change of the coefficient of linear expansion accompanied with the transformation of the steel. CONSTITUTION:The coefficient alphaT% of linear expansion of steel is considerably changed at the transformation point of A1 in the vicinity of 720 deg.C (Tcz). Therefore, the calculation of correcting the amount of the thermal expansion is made in consideration with this fact for setting-up a cutting length, thereby the dispersion of cutting errors with respect to the target length of steel after the cooling of the steel is greatly reduced. |
