PURPOSE:To obtain a high grade image within a short time, by positioning a plurality of heat generating elements arranged on a plane on lattice points, and allowing the heat generating elements to correspond to the pixels on recording paper in a ratio of 1:1. CONSTITUTION:A plane type thermal head wherein heat generating elements are arranged on a plane substrate at the positions corresponding to the pixels on a recording medium is allowed to generate heat corresponding to an electric signal to print a high quality image within a short time. That is, the heat generating elements 2, common electrodes 4 and the recording medium 3 are provided to a ceramic substrate 1 by screen printing and vapor deposition to form the plane type thermal head. Subsequently, a known thermal transfer film and image receiving paper are superposed and the plane type thermal head formed is arranged to the back surface of the thermal transfer ilm and the heat generating elements 2 are simultaneously connected to a power source to print the entire surface of the image receiving paper. |
