<p>PURPOSE:To quickly and accurately read out position information according to running speed of a tape, by reading out digital information recorded on a tape in low speed with higher bit frequency near the tip of information storage period. CONSTITUTION:Position information such as a section name and a section number and the like is sequentially read out from a tape T in high speed running via a head 7 and applied to a microcomputer 9 via a CPE signal detecting circuit 8. Then, a computer 9 compares the information with the storage content and reads out the section name and the section number until the both are coincident. When the both are coincident, a speed switching instruction to a low speed is applied from the computer 9 to a system control circuit 2, and the search information in high bit frequency recorded near the tip of the designated section is accurately read from the tap T in a low speed. The program search of the information at the desired section can be made quickly and accurately with the readout of the position information quickly and accurately in accordance with the tape speed.</p> |
