PURPOSE:To improve the formation of oil film and prevent the generation of cracks by a method wherein slant faces are formed on the joining corner parts at the incoming sides of shaft rotation of a sliding contact part to a shaft and of load supporting parts arranged at the both ends of the sliding contact part in the pad bearing in which a pad consists of said sliding contact part and load supporting parts in order to support the shaft. CONSTITUTION:The pad 2 is formed of the sliding contact part 2a to the shaft and of the load supporting parts 2b, which are bent radially from the end parts of the sliding contact part 2a, and as well as the both parts 2a and 2b have bimetal structure composed of a backmetal 3 and a bearing metal layer 4 applied over the surface thereof. The bearing metal layer 4 at the joining corner parts of said parts 2a and 2b are removed by cutting-off along the distances of same length as the thickness of bimetal T so as to expose the backmetal 3. At the cut-off parts, the end face 4a of said bearing metal layer at the side of the sliding contact part 2a is formed into a slant face having the inclination theta of no more than 45 deg. to the direction of shaft rotation O and as well as the end face 4b of the bearing metal layer at the side of the load supporting part 2b is formed into a slant face having the inclination theta1 of the order of 30 deg. to the same direction of shaft rotation O. |
