PURPOSE:To make a cooling box used for blast furnaces, etc.,heat resistant, to prevent its erosion and to improve the durability of the furnace by melt spraying ceramics to the bottom surface and both sides on the leading end side of the cooling box. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a cooling box 1 is cleaned by using a thinner or the like and is dried thoroughly. Thence, the surface is polished with shot blasting. Next, underlaying is first accomplished by melt-spraying of Si-Cr-Ni,etc., with plasma jets, then middle laying by melt-spraying of Cr-Ni, etc. and finally, overlaying of Al2O3-ZrO2, etc., whereby the ceramic coating is completed. The tickness of the entire melt-sprayed layer is set at about 0.2-0.4mm., and the range of the melt-spraying is kept within the range shown by, for example, a chain line 2. Since this ceramic layer has heat resistance and a heat insulating effect, its erosion is prevented in spite of the exposure on account of the damaging of the refractory linings of the furnace. |
