PURPOSE:To smoothly cause suction and exhaust and heighten the efficiency of a rotary engine, by providing the rotor of the engine with operating partition members which function to receive the force of explosion and can be moved in and out and by providing the rotor with pistons which are reciprocated by a recessed cam. CONSTITUTION:Just after a piston 3 fitted in a rotor 1 passes by an exhaust port 11, the piston is pulled toward the center of the rotor by the descent of the peripheral part of a side cam 4 and the action of a roller 22 to start suction. When the piston 3 has descended to its bottom dead center and the rear end of the piston has passed by the inside surface 13 of a housing 2, compression is started by the ascent of the peripheral part of the side cam 4 and centrifugal force. After that, an operating partition member 6 goes up along the inside surface of the housing 2. After the piston 3 finishes its compression process and the operating partition member 6 passes by an ignition port 9, a mixture is ignited and exploded by a spark plug 23 so that the combustion gas expands into a combustion chamber 10 while pushing the partition member 6. After the partition member 6 passes by an exhaust port 11, the combustion gas is discharged. |
