<p>PURPOSE:To recognize numeric values accurately, by lowering the speaking speed of numeric values for announcement of time in an electronic desk calculator provided with a function for announcement of time. CONSTITUTION:When a prescribed numeric value is operated in a CPU 7 by the key operation of a keyboard 2 and the indication for speaking of the numeric value is given, contents for speaking the numeric value are discriminated, and each voice code is stored in a register 8b, and a number (n) of syllables to be spoken is stored in a counter 8c. When it is discriminated on a basis of time information applied from a clock part 10 that it is 5 seconds to the just time, a command indicating the lowering of the speaking speed is given to a voice synthesizing device 8, and same voice data are reproduced respectively plural times successively to lower the speaking speed. When it is discriminated that it is 3 seconds to the just time, the control is transferred to a routine for announcement of time to speak the announcement of time. After 550msec, the next numeric value before the announcement of time is spoken in a low speed. Next, the counter 8c is counted down to return the low speed to the original speaking speed after 250msec.</p> |
