PURPOSE:To easily manufacture a composite wire having high fatigue resistance, by loading tensions to a core wire before heating and a composite wire after cooling to give compressive residual stress to a coated metal. CONSTITUTION:Core wire (a) is fed from a feeding device 1 to clean its surface through a grinder 2 and a washing device 3. Successively the core wire (a) is heated, and its surface is activated together through a heating device 4 and then; coating metal is pressed onto the core wire (a) to bond metallically with the wire a, while the wire (a) is inserted through an extruder 5, and to be formed into a composite wire (b) byextrusion coating the coating metal. In a manufacturing process that the wire (b) is coiled by a coiler 7 after being passed through a cooling tank 6, a tension loading device 8 is provided to the front side of the heating device 4 and a tension loading device 9 is provided between the cooling tank 6 and the coiler 7 in order to load tensions to the wire (a). That is, the coating metal is extrusion-coated onto the wire (a) to form the composite wire (b) while giving elongation to the wire (a), and successively the wire (b) is cooled through the tank 6. |
