<p>The five axis milling machine is used to machine faces with compound curvature, and moves the work relative to the tool providing for sliding along three perpendicular axies together with rotation about two further perpendicular axies. The work is mounted on a horizontal turntable (1) supported by a longitudinally displaceable slide (2) on an independent bed (3). The milling tool is mounted on a vertical slide (6) transversing rails (7) fixed to a transversely slidable pillar (5), locating on an offset head (9) of which the axis of rotation (A) is parallel to the trajectory (X) of the work slide (2), and using a tool spindle (10) perpendicular to this axis.</p> |
