PURPOSE:To improve external appearance and weathering performance of a natural circulaton type solar heat utilizing water heater and to facilitate the process for installing the apparatus at low cost as compared with a water heater of the type that is installed on the roof, by employing such an arrangement that the apparatus can be installed on the ground to function also an open veranda. CONSTITUTION:In the installation of the apparatus, a frame 15 suited for a heat collecting plate assembly 1 is at first fixed at a lower position adjacently of a sill on the outside of a south-facing sweeping window of an ordinary house, and then the heat collecting plate assembly 1 having an L-shaped cross section and consisting of front and upper heat collecting sections 2, 3 are mounted and fixed on the upper surface of the frame 15. The assembly 1 is a hollow member made of a synthetic resin, and a lower and an upper water channels 5, 6 are defined by forming a lateral partition wall 4 at a lower portion of the front heat collecting section 2 along the length of the assembly 1. Further, the upper water channel 5 is formed with ascending water channels 13 extended to a return channel 10 by means of a plurality of longitudinal partition walls 12. Installation of the apparatus is completed by connecting the heat collecting assembly 1 to a heat accumulating tank 18 formed in a shutter box or the like by pipes connected to a water supply port 7 and a water outlet port 11. |
