The invention relates to a connecting element for connecting wooden load-bearing members for the erection of skeleton frames such as, for example, for covered garden walks, saunas, trailer superstructures and the like. Depending on requirements, the invention provides, at the connecting point (joint point), at least two, but generally three and more, mutually connected hollow-profile portions (e.g. 8, 9, 10) which run at an angle with respect to one another and have a cross-sectionally right-angled, preferably rectangular, cavity. One (first) hollow-profile portion (8) is arranged, with its one end side, at the end of an outer longitudinal side of the other (second) hollow-profile portion (9), and further hollow-profile portions preferably run at right angles, or are in alignment, with respect to the first and second hollow-profile portions (8, 9). <IMAGE>
