PURPOSE:To obtain a liq. crystal display cell free from bubbles and having an increased available display area by injecting a liq. crystal into a cell composed of 2 electrode plates, heating the cell, applying a sealant, returning the cell to room temp., and curing the sealant to surely conduct sealing. CONSTITUTION:A cell is fabricated by superposing 2 electrode plates on each other. A prescribed liq. crystal 3 is injected into the cell 2 from the injection hole, and the cell 2 is heated to room temp. or above, e.g., about 50 deg.C to release the bubbles from the upper hole. The liq. crystal overflowing the cell 2 is wiped away. A sealant 1 such as epoxy resin is then applied, and by dropping the temp. of the crystal 3 to room temp., the upper surface of the crystal 3 lowers to a prescribed position, and the underside of the sealant 1 lowers also to the upper surface of the crystal 3 to surely fill the injection hole. The sealant 1 is cured in this state. By this method a liq. crystal display cell having superior uniformity, shelf stability and an increased available display area is obtd. |
