Bricks, building materials etc. are made by mixing bulking material e.g. fly ash, sand, gravel, chippings, clays etc. with acids and acid-forming oxides, bases and base-forming oxides, hydroxides, salts and double salts chlorates, carbonates, phosphates, silicates, etc.; heating, opt. under press., drying, steaming and heating in a desired shape to form petrified prod. Process allows a prod. such as fly ash to be formed into useful solid or powdered building materials.
