The tubular heat exchanging element (7) comprises inner (12) and outer (13) walls between which are provided partitions (22). The partitions form longitudinally extending channels (11) or tubular passages. The front sides (23) of the channels are closed, to allow transport of a heat absorbing fluid through the channels. A fluid supply (19) opens into a fluid supply chamber (17) formed by an outer pipe part (14). A fluid outlet chamber (18) is formed at the other end of the tubular element (10) by another outer pipe part (15). The tubular element may be of plastics material.
