PURPOSE:To make recording high-sensitive and to improve stability, by forming the first stabilizing layer with the oxide, the fluoride, the nitride, etc. of rare- earth elements on a substrate and forming a thin film metallic recording layer consisting of two or more of Bi, Sb, and Sn and the second stabilizing layer in order on the first stabilizing layer. CONSTITUTION:The first stabilizing layer 2 consisting of one or more kinds of compound selected from oxides Y2O3, La2O3, Nd2O3, Sm2O3, Gd2O3, etc. and fluorides LaF3, DeF3, etc. and nitrides of rare-earth elements is formed on a disc-shaped substrate 1 consisting of polymethyl methacrylate or the like. Next, after a thin film metallic recording layer 3 consisting of two or more of Bi, Sb, and Sn is formed, the second stabilizing layer 4 similar to the layer 2 is formed on the layer 3, and the light beam such as a laser beam or the like is irradiated to form recording holes in the layer 2, thus obtaining an information recording material. Stabilizing layers 3 and 4 prevent the layer 2 from being degraded by oxidation or the like, and a heat mode recording superior in sensitivity, reproducing S/N, etc. is achieved. |
