Electrical connecting and disconnecting device for two flat rails

Two flat rails (2, 3), which are arranged one above the other on an insulating-material base (1), can be electrically connected to one another by means of a screw (4) which passes through one of the rails (2) and can be screwed into the second rail (3). The screw (4) has a reduced-diameter shank part (8) which is adjacent to the thread (9) and forms a shoulder (13) with the rest of the shank (7). A stop disc (12) is fitted to the reduced-diameter shank part (8) and is pressed against the shoulder (13) by a spring (15) which is supported on a projection (14) of the hole (11) in the base (1) for the screw (4). The hole in the disc (12) is likewise provided with a thread. When the screw (4) is screwed completely out of the thread (9) in the second rail (3) it is lifted off the second rail (3) by the spring (15), so that the electrical connection is disconnected. The disconnection can subsequently be locked by the thread (9) of the screw (4) being screwed into the thread in the disc (12). <IMAGE>
