PURPOSE:To obtain the catalyst having sulfur resistance and hydrogenating a hydrocarbon under a relatively mild condition, as the catalyst for hydrogenation, by supporting molybdenum sulfide on a carrier comprising an alloy with a specific structure. CONSTITUTION:As the catalyst subjecting a hydrocarbon to contact hydrogenation, on a carrier comprising an alloy shown by a formula Mm1-xAxNi5-yBy (wherein Mm is a mixed metal, A is a summary concept of Ti and Ca, B is a summary concept of Al, Co or the like, x is 0-1 and y is 0-1), molybdenum sulfide is supported. This catalyst carries out hydrogenation under such a relatively mild condition that a temp. is about 150 deg.C and hydrogen pressure is about 30atm. |
