PURPOSE:To suppress the lowering of purifying capacity in a reduced range of a platinum supporting amount, as the catalyst for purifying an exhaust gas, by using a mixture consisting of a catalyst supporting platinum and rhodium together and a catalyst supporting rhodium alone. CONSTITUTION:As the catalyst for purifying the exhaust gas from an internal combustion engin, especially, an automobile, a catalyst supporting platinum and rhodium together and a catalyst supporting rhodium alone are used in a mixed state. By this method, even if the supporting amount of platinum is in a reduced range as the total of the catalyst, the lowering of purifying capacity is controlled to the utmost and catalytic activity of pltinum is practically used to a max. degree. |
