PURPOSE:To obtain a composition for dephosphorization of molten iron by blowing which exhibits high dephosphorization efficiency with a small rate of decarburization by sintering or melting a mixture of quicklime and iron ore and/or Mn ore then grinding the same to specific average diameters or below. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of 30-70wt% quicklime and 70-30wt% total amt. of iron ore and/or Mn ore is sintered or melted, after which it is grounded to <=500mum weight average diameters. It is equally well to use a mixture contg. <=20wt% 1 kind of fluorite, cryolite, collemanite and sodium carbonate as flux, other than said raw materials. The powder composition wherein the quicklime and iron oxide or/and MgO coexist is blown into molten iron, by which high dephosphorization efficiency is obtained with a small amt. of the gaseous O2 blown, the and rate of decarburization is suppresed to an extremely small rate. |
