PURPOSE:To reduce volume and the number of units on acount of the improvement in heat exchange efficiency by storing once the cooling medium flowed through each set of cooling means for a blast furnace body which are divided to plural sets and directly feeding the same to said cooling means then feeding the same to a heat exchanger for cooling. CONSTITUTION:While sea water for cooling a cooling medium is flowed in a heat exchanger 3, it heats the cooling medium by depriving the same of its heat to rise temp. and is ejected 7 through a conduit 6 to cool the lower part of a blast furnace body 1. On the other hand, the cooling medium cooled with the heat exchanger 3 is fed through a header 9, a valve 11 and a distribution pipe 10 to the respective cooling panels 2 of the primary cooling panel 2A, thereby cooling the furnace body 1. Next, the cooling medium out from the panel 2 is flowed through a branching discharge pipe 12, an annular trough 13 and a conduit 14 and is once stored in an elevated tank 15, after which it is fed through a header 9', a valve 11' and a branch feed pipe 10' to the respective cooling panels 2' of the secondary cooling panel group 2'A, thereby cooling the body 1 again. The cooling medium past the panel 2' is stored into an elevated tank 15' via a branching discharge pipe 12', an annular trough 13' and a conduit 14', after which it is fed into the heat exchanger 3 through conduits 18', 19'. |
