PURPOSE:To improve ignition performance of a plasma ignition device used for an internal combustion engine, by parallelly connecting a delay circuit, having the third capacitors, wtih the first capacitor and successively feeding electric charges also from the third capacitors at plasma ignition. CONSTITUTION:Inductors 211-21n and the third capacitors 221-22n are arranged to ladder-type connection to form a delay circuit 23, and this delay circuit is parallelly connected with the first capacitor 3 to form a net work circuitry 24 for storing ignition energy, then an ignition circuit 20 is constituted by said delay circuit and net work circuit. In this way, DC voltage of a booster 2 is charged to the first capaciror 3 and to the third capacitor 22 by the time constant of the delay circuit 23. A thyristor 5 is turned on by ignition timing, and an electric charge of the first capacitor 3 and circuit net work 24 is discharged ?through the thyristor 5, the second capacitor 7 and the primary winding 81 of a transformer 8, and the second capacitor 7 is rapidly charged. At this time, a spark discharge is operated, then high energy is injected to a spark plug 9 from the first and second capacitors 3, 7, thus plasma ignition can be performed. |
