PURPOSE:To reduce the porosity of a flame spray coatig layer, while enhancing a bonding strength between flame spray coating particles and the adhesiveness of the particles to a workpiece, by performing flame spray coating with a flame spray coater under a heated condition to form the refractory flame spray coating layer on the surface of a metal or refractory. CONSTITUTION:Alumina fire brick is used a a flame spray coating material. A siliconit electric furnace 3 is located in front of the top end 1 of the flame coating gun of a wter plasma device. The alumina fire brick 2 is arranged inside the furnace, and the interior of the furnace is heated at about 1,200 deg.C. Thereafter, the alumina fire brick is flame-sprayed by the water plasma device, to form an alumina flame spray coating layer 4 having a thickness of about 10mm. on the surface of brick 2. This high-temperature flame coating method can use a conventional heating means such as oxygen, and the heating temperature is preferably higher than 400 deg.C but lower than the softening point of the workpiece. |
