PURPOSE:To reduce load applied to the side wall of hull by providing a predetermined gap between shaped heavy cargo and side wall of the hold and disposing such a resilient supporting device in said gap as adapted to bear the load exerted by the cargo when the ship rolls and pitches. CONSTITUTION:On right and left side walls 2 which are opposite to each other in the hold 1 of a steel billet carrier, numerous elastic holding devices 3 are arranged, and each one of these holding devices 3 is composed of a fixed board 4 which is fixed onto the side wall 2, a coil spring 5 which is attached to the fixed board 4 and a shifting body 6 which is attached to the tip of the coil spring 5. And, therefore, when the ship rolls to the right and left under the condition that numerous steel billets are stacked in the hold 1, while the steel billets shift, the shifting load is borne by the holding device 3 at first, and the holding device 3 is compressed and bent. In consequence, the load works on the side wall 2 of the hold, and therefore, the load acting on the side wall 2 of the hold is decreased. |
