PURPOSE:To reduce working steps, and to realize mass production of a titled shaft, by partially projecting a flange part of a heated rough material of a shaft, and after that, completing the flange part having an oil groove in the radial direction by means of upset working. CONSTITUTION:A rough material of a round bar is heated, is rolled by roll molds 22, 24, and a temporary material 26 is formed. After that, it is held by upsetter molds 28, 30, and a complete rough material 36 is manufactured by applying pressure from both end parts 32, 34 in the axial direction. In this case, on the upsetter molds 28, 30, projections 44, 46 corresponding to oil grooves 40, 42 along the radial direction of a flange part 38 are formed, therefore, when the rough material 36 is completed, the oil grooves 40, 42 are formed on the flange part 38 simultaneously. After that, the main shaft is completed by working the rough material 36 by cutting the surface, etc. According to this method, since it is unnecessary to form the oil grooves 40, 42 by means of cutting etc., the working process is reduced so as to be suitable for mass production. |
