PURPOSE:To obtain a photoconductor with sensitivity fit for a prescribed process by blending sensitized higher sensitivity green powder with lower sensitivity green powder in a regulated ratio prior to a process for calcining cadmium sulfide for electrophotography, uniformly mixing the blend, and calcining the mixture. CONSTITUTION:To obtain cadmium sulfide for an electrophotographic process higher sensitivity green CdS powder contg. Cu, Cl and In as impurities and having sufficient sensitivity even at the longer wavelength side in spite of lower resistance is mixed with lower sensitivity green CdS powder contg. Cu and Cl and having no sensitivity at the lower wavelength side in spite of higher resistance, and the mixture is calcined. Thus, a photoconductor having suitable dark resistance and sufficient sensitivity even to light of longer wavelengths. The x-axis of the diagram shows the mixing ratio between higher sensitivity CdS and lower sensitivity CdS, and the curves A, B are half-attenuation exposure curves to 800nm light and 850nm light, respectively. The blending ratio for attaining prescribed sensitivity can be decided using the diagram. |
