<p>PURPOSE:To eliminate a thickness deviation generating in both groups of roughing and finishing mills at a stroke, by correcting the sheet tension between stands on the down-stream side based on the sheet breadth deviation at the output side of a finishing mill, of which sheet breadth on the up-stream side is controlled by the sheet breadth deviation and a temp. distribution in the longitudinal direction of a rolling material. CONSTITUTION:Steel sheet 1 is passed in the direction of the arrow between stands S1-S7 of a finishing mill under a standard tension caused by loopers R1-R7. A tension of the sheet 1 between the stands on the up-stream side is correctingly controlled by using a breadth meter 6, a temp. sensor 2, pulse generators PG1-PG3, arithmetic units 3 and 4, and arithmetic controllers 5. Here, the sheet breadth is measured by the breadth meter 7 at the exit side, and the result is compared with an output of a product-breadth setter 10 to integrate the deviation between them by an integrator 8. Tensions to be added to the sheet 1 between stand S4 and S5-S6 and betweem S5-S6 and S7 are computed from said integrated values to output a command signal, corresponding to each computed value, to each looper R4-R6 to add a tension to the sheet 1.</p> |
