<p>The water to water heat pump operates under vacuum and uses water as the refrigerant. The heat pump has an accumulator capable of being re-charged through a tun-dish, an isolating valve and an orifice plate. The heat pump is used on district heating schemes using the waste heat from a power station. The heat is transported as low temperature water, less than 30 degrees C and upgraded by the heat pump to a temperature in excess of 50 degrees C. The recooled water is returned to the power station or the river.</p> |
